- What was that noise ?
- Nothing, just the beams crackling.
- Zap to the cartoon channel, I want to watch.
- Yes, so we can see their eyes twinkle up for nothing.
- Look at the expression of his paws while he’s running, it’s like they are almost soft.
- And look at his head, how flat it is, as if he’s afraid.
- It’s very thorough.
- A menu.
- He will never leave us alone.
- We should double the dose.
Julie Villard & Simon Brossard’s sculptures seem to be moving, crackling and drooling beneath their layer of paint.
MENU gathers a series of hybrid forms, a species of flower soon withering.
On the lookout for too long, these organisms are probably tired of being hungry.
Despite the metal and monochrome coating pinning them down, they salivate from a voracious appetite, longing to devour their prey. Impatient and softened, they contort their bones and flesh, bending their shell and the fabric that wraps them.
Silence is unsuited for the craving of this project, vulnerable and precious, insatiable yet contained, sensuel and sexual, alive.
