Lou Fauroux (born 1998) lives and works in Saint-Ouen. She studied at ECAL and graduated from ENSAD Paris in 2022. Through a practice of video, sculpture, installation and 3D, she questions the ethical challenges of artificial intelligence and virtual technologies and their impacts on humans. She decrypts the social structures of power through pop culture and medias such as music and video games. Incorporating her queer experience in the multiple layers of narration and representation, she reappropriates the images she grew up with by building new mythologies around them.
Lou Fauroux has presented her video works and films at institutions such as MoMA, New York ; Film at Lincoln Center, New York ; Centre Pompidou, Paris ; FRAC Poitou-Charentes, Angoulême ; Forde, Geneva ; Fondation Pernod-Richard, Paris. She has been part of group exhibitions at Chantal Crousel, Paris ; Exo Exo, Paris ; Centre Wallonie-Bruxelles, Paris. She is the laureate of MK2 short film award for her movie ThisIsHowTheWorlEnds (2020) and a finalist for the SCAM emergence award (2022). Her work is part of the collection of the FRAC Poitou-Charentes.
